THE GALLERY

Since 2001, with its three floors in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés the fine arts area, the gallery has enabled Bernard Dulon to present exhibitions which, given the quality of the selected pieces, reach the museum level. A catalogue deemed to become a reference work has been published for each of them:.

ARMAN 2002
WEST DREAMS 2003
THILA 2004
CAMEROUN 2006

Parts of these exhibitions are now presented by Friedman-Vallois gallery in New-York.
When outside his gallery, for example at the Biennale des Antiquaires, Bernard Dulon makes the architectural quality of his stands layout and the graphic quality of his catalogues a priority.

Aside from theme exhibitions, the gallery offers a large selection of pieces from the main ethnic groups of black Africa.

They are selected without concessions: Bernard Dulon passionately tracks down the most ancient objects, those carved before the white man’s arrival, truly inspired works which for the best of them transcend the magic, the terror or the savagery of the secret societies which rule the organization of African tribes. They also are representations of kings or notables radiating strength and power.

Many of these pieces were brought back at the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century and passed through prestigious hands.

As a result of this demand for exceptional objects the gallery is proud on counting the greatest collectors in the world and the most prestigious institutions such as Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, Musée Barbier Müller in Geneva, the Metropolitan Museum in New-York or the Smithsonian Institution among its customers.
